About SIBGRAPI

SIBGRAPI is the acronym for "Simpósio Brasileiro de Computação Gráfica e Processamento de Imagens". Initiated in 1988, the series of SIBGRAPIs sponsored by SBC (the Brazilian Computer Society), have become the most important meetings in Brazil in the areas of Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and Computer Vision. One of the most important features of SIBGRAPI has been its multidisciplinary nature, gathering state-of-the-art papers from these areas under the same umbrella.

Several factors have contributed to the success of SIBGRAPI, including:

  • careful and strict assessment of every submission, usually by three qualified reviewers
  • integration of various aspects of Computer Graphics, Image processing and Computer Vision
  • the incorporation of tutorials and invited talks by nationally and internationally renowned researchers
  • dedicated and full participation by many researchers in the scientific and organizational aspects of the symposium

Attesting to the relevance and quality of the SIBGRAPI series of meetings, the proceedings have been published by the IEEE Computer Society Press since 1997. Also, the best papers of the last two SIBGRAPI editions have been selected for publication in the following journals: Computers & Graphics and Pattern Recognition Letters (2001); and Computer Graphics Forum-CGF and Computer Vision and Image Understanding - CVIU (2002).
